Day 1: Arrival at NJP/Bagdogra → Transfer to Gangtok
On Day 1, arrive at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, where you’ll be greeted by your driver. The drive to Gangtok takes around 4-5 hours, offering scenic views of the Himalayan foothills and tea gardens. After checking in to your hotel, explore MG Road, known for its lively shops and cafes. In the evening, visit the peaceful Enchey Monastery and, if the weather permits, head to Tashi Viewpoint for a view of Mount Kanchenjunga. Return to your hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 2: Gangtok Local Sightseeing → Return to NJP/Bagdogra
On Day 2, after breakfast, visit Rumtek Monastery, an important Tibetan Buddhist site, followed by the Banjhakri Waterfalls, a serene natural spot. Explore the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology to learn about Tibetan culture. If time allows, visit Lal Market for local souvenirs. In the afternoon, drive back to NJP or Bagdogra (4-5 hours), where you’ll be dropped off at the station or airport.
